Antonio Skármeta

Antonio Skármeta, geboren 1940 in Antofagasta/Chile, erzielte mit seinem Roman „Mit brennender Geduld“ 1985 einen Welterfolg. Auch die Verfilmung des Buchs mit Philippe Noiret als Pablo Neruda war ein internationaler Erfolg.
Als Anhänger Salvador Allendes musste Skármeta nach dem Pinochet-Putsch sein Land verlassen und lebte von 1974-1989 im Exil in Berlin. Von 2000-2003 ging er erneut nach Berlin, diesmal als Botschafter Chiles.
Verfasser zahlreicher Romane, Erzählungen und Drehbücher, die er zum Teil auch selbst verfilmte. Im Graf Verlag erschien zuletzt seine nostalgisch-poetische Dorfgeschichte „Mein Vater aus Paris“.
