"Happiness is not this thing for other people. It is for you, for me, for all of us."

Katharina am 23.07.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2547204

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This book got recommended to me by a friend, and oh my days i will never stop thinking about it. In this book we follow a teenage boy, Charlie, who is struggling with a lot of things: physical, sexual and emotional abuse, mental illnesses and most of all fitting in. He writes letters to a "Dear friend" and tells us about his days. The good and bad ones. How he loves to read books, loves his friends, who he falls in love with and all his thoughts. I see myself in Charlie and I think many other people do too.

I’m holding this one close. Everything felt too much and not enough. A letter to the lonely, the tender, the trying. I wanted to underline every page. It reminded me how it felt to be quiet in a loud world, and still want to be heard.
