Ich hab das Buch in 2 Tagen gelesen. Die Charaktere sind gut und ich mag es das die Geschichte sich nicht ewig zieht. Man kann sich durch den Schreibstil total gut in den Druck, den die Charaktere haben rein fühlen. Es hat eine gut wlw Liebesgeschichte und spricht viel über die Männerdominierte Welt. Wirklich ein tolles Buch.

A great dystopian fairytale!

This story takes place in a world where Cinderella lived 200 years ago and so, the city continues to live after the concept that made Cinderella find her happy ending, on Prince Charmings side. That's what the king tells, at least. Every girl is committed to attend royal balls to get chosen by their future husband, which is really important, 'cause this will be the point where their lives will change completely to one or the other directions. But sometimes, it seems that some of the girls who weren't chosen mysteriously disappear. Sophia, our protagonist hates the idea to get chosen by a man and having no chance to choose by herself. Not least because she is just not interested in guys. Something's went terribly wrong on the day of her royal ball and suddenly, Sophia's got not only her own destiny in her hands. I really really enjoyed this book, as I generally tend to like fairytala adaptions. I loved the rather dark and mysterious setting and also the diversity of the charakters! In my opinion, the last third of the book seemed a little bit rushed, but that's the only thing I've got to criticize. A great dystopian fairytale!
