"An aviator, downed in the desert and facing long odds of survival, encounters a strange young person,
neither man nor really boy, who, it emerges over time, has travelled from his solitary home on a distant
asteroid, where he lives alone with a single rose. The rose has made him so miserable that, in torment,
he has taken advantage of a flock of birds to convey him to other planets. He is instructed by a wise
if cautious fox, and by a sinister angel of death, the snake."-Adam Gopnik, The New Yorker

Finally getting started on the many classics I own which are yet to be read
I loved the way the author imparted wisdom with this story.
I found it very creative, and I enjoyed reading about the little prince and his endeavors very much.
One thing that strikes me as odd, though, is the way it’s marketed towards kids. Maybe it reads different in French (the original language) but in my opinion the wording in English is a bit too complex for children to understand.
But then again, maybe I’m already too grown up and don’t give children enough credit for their imagination
It still is a very special book and I am glad I’ve read it.
One of my most favourite quotes from the story: "It is only with the heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye."
