Güliz Karaarslan Semiz is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University in Turkey. She completed her PhD at Middle East Technical University in Ankara. Her study was awarded as the best PhD. thesis of the year at Middle East Technical University in 2016. Her research interests are related to education for sustainable development, systems thinking, outdoor learning and recently whole school approaches to sustainability. She has completed several national and international projects related to education for sustainable development, and she has articles, book chapters and conference papers related to these areas. She is part of the Environmental and Sustainability Education Research network in Europe, and recently she worked as a visiting researcher at Stockholm University in Sweden.
