Another great Emily Henry book

This is a solid four-star book. We follow our two main characters, Miles and Daphne. They end up living together in an apartment because their ex-fiancés left them. (This is a fake dating trope.) Throughout the book, we see how their feelings evolve as they spend more time together. What I really loved about this book is how Emily Henry portrayed the experience of living far away from your family and being someone with only a few friends (which I can relate to) and showing us that it's okay. Daphne also struggles to stay strong after the breakup and has a hard time dealing with it, but over time she realizes that she was trying to fit into her ex-fiancé's life while neglecting her own. It's important to be an individual in a relationship and not let yourself be devoured by your other half. You should complement your partner. This book beautifully illustrates the importance of family and friends, as well as the value of listening to those around you.

It tells the story about Daphne and Miles whose partners realized their love for each other and dumped them both. In desperate need of a new home, Daphne moves in with Miles. Together they mourn their lost loves and start fake dating to make their exes jealous. This works very well until their relationship is no longer fake... Emily Henry's (not anymore) new book was all over Instagram, so my expectations were astronomically high. It was my first book by this author and I kind of understand the hype but for me it was just a good book and nothing more. I really like her style with many smirks and laughs. I also liked the characters: Daphne working in the library and reading to children is perfect, Miles working in this cozy winery, both getting to know each other, and Daphne making new friends and building an independent life. All of these aspects were really nice, but I expected to be sucked into the story and fly through the pages which unfortunately only happened in some parts. I still enjoyed this book, will most likely reread it and will also continue to read by from Emely Henry, but I will try not to get my hopes and expectations up in the future.
