Chaol Westfall has arrived in the city of Antica to forge an alliance with the Khagan of the Southern Continent's vast armies and to seek healing at the famed Torre Cesme. Yrene Towers, a healer, has no desire to help the young lord, yet she has sworn an oath to assist those in need and she will honor it--despite the shadows from his past, which could engulf them both.

While they become entangled in the political webs of the khaganate, deep in the mountains, long-awaited answers slumber. Answers that might offer their world a chance at survival--or doom them all . . .

I'm a huge fan of the series and most of the characters. I knew about this book and started Kingdom of Ash (the last and seventh book) and was very confused. I didn't know Tower of Dawn was part of the official series because the cover looks different and doesn't follow Celaena/Aelin AT ALL. It follows Chaol and Nesryn, who are trying to get allies for the war. The first half of the book is mainly Chaol and Yrene bickering and establishing somewhat of a relationship. Personally, I think this book is way too long and only the second half gives the read what they need to know for the last book. I was very disappointed and only liked when the story followed Nesryn. Everything else was not necessary and I was very glad when I finished reading this book.
