THE NUMBER ONE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER
WINNER OF THE BOOKS ARE MY BAG READERS AWARD FOR NON-FICTION

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FEEL TRULY ALIVE?

Aged 24, Matt Haig's world caved in. He could see no way to go on living. This is the true story of how he came through crisis, triumphed over an illness that almost destroyed him and learned to live again.

A moving, funny and joyous exploration of how to live better, love better and feel more alive, Reasons to Stay Alive is more than a memoir. It is a book about making the most of your time on earth.

"I wrote this book because the oldest clichés remain the truest. Time heals. The bottom of the valley never provides the clearest view. The tunnel does have light at the end of it, even if we haven't been able to see it . . . Words, just sometimes, really can set you free."

Haig, Matt

Matt Haig is the number one bestselling author of Reasons to Stay Alive and Notes on a Nervous Planet and six highly acclaimed novels for adults, including How to Stop Time, The Humans and The Radleys. He has also written many books for children, including most recently the Sunday Times bestseller, The Truth Pixie, and he has won the Blue Peter Book Award, the Smarties Book Prize and been nominated three times for the Carnegie Medal. He has sold more than a million books in the UK and his work has been translated into over forty languages.

This book is so important! There are not many books in this world, where it is allowed to highlight important passages. But this little tressure is one of them!

I can't say how much I adore this book. It is an halfway very personal, partly scientific approach on mental health, depression, anxiety and the most important question ever: How do I stay alive and make it out of a really dark state of mind? I loved everything about this book.

I would say that this book is comforting on one hand but also showing of the reality of a person with mental illness on the other without romanticizing everything. He tells his struggle and his journey to cope with it.
