Reasons to Stay Alive

THE NUMBER ONE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER
WINNER OF THE BOOKS ARE MY BAG READERS AWARD FOR NON-FICTION

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FEEL TRULY ALIVE?

Aged 24, Matt Haig's world caved in. He could see no way to go on living. This is the true story of how he came through crisis, triumphed over an illness that almost destroyed him and learned to live again.

A moving, funny and joyous exploration of how to live better, love better and feel more alive, Reasons to Stay Alive is more than a memoir. It is a book about making the most of your time on earth.

"I wrote this book because the oldest clichés remain the truest. Time heals. The bottom of the valley never provides the clearest view. The tunnel does have light at the end of it, even if we haven't been able to see it . . . Words, just sometimes, really can set you free."

Absolut lesenswert!

When it´s hard to breathe, read this book!

"I have been ill before, then well again. Wellness is possible." Reasons to read this book: - You feel or felt depressed before or know someone who has depression and want to learn more about it - You need reasons to stay alive (*wink*) - You don´t want to be alone with this... "I have been ill before, then well again. Wellness is possible." Reasons to read this book: - You feel or felt depressed before or know someone who has depression and want to learn more about it - You need reasons to stay alive (*wink*) - You don´t want to be alone with this feeling (Matt Haig has this way to find the right words AND be rational about depression and anxiety) This book made me speechless at some point and I even shed a tear or two while reading it. Even if you can´t identify yourself with ever aspect of his experience, there are thoughts and situations where you just nod or smile, because you know exactly what he meant. It was a fast read for me, the chapters are short, but they have so much meaning. Sometimes we just have to remember that there are many reasons to stay alive and that we all should have a list with (our personal) reasons to stay alive!
