These casually drawn, perfectly on-point comics by the hugely popular young Brooklyn-based artist Sarah Andersen are for the rest of us. They document the wasting of entire beautiful weekends on the internet, the unbearable agony of holding hands on the street with a gorgeous guy, and dreaming all day of getting home and back into pajamas. In other words, the horrors and awkwardnesses of young modern life. Oh and they are totally not autobiographical. At all.

Adulthood Is a Myth presents many fan favorites plus dozens of all-new comics exclusive to this book. Like the work of fellow Millennial authors Allie Brosh, Grace Helbig, and Gemma Correll, Sarah's frankness on personal issues like body image, self-consciousness, introversion, relationships, and the frequency of bra-washing makes her comics highly relatable and deeply hilarious.

Sarah Andersen is a cartoonist and illustrator from New England. She is the author of the award-winning series
Sarah’s Scribbles, which has earned her three consecutive Goodreads Choice Awards. Her semi-autobiographical comics chronicle the continual struggles of waking up in the morning, being productive, dealing with social awkwardness, technology, and her beloved pets. Together with author Andy Weir, she also illustrated the graphic novel
Cheshire Crossing, a mashup of
Wizard of Oz,
Peter Pan, and
Alice in Wonderland. Her gothic romance,
Fangs, began running online in 2020 as a serial comic strip on
Tapas and will be published in September 2020 in hardcover form. She graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014 and currently lives in Montreal, Canada.

Simply amazing!

It's an amazing comic which shows the perks of being a female "wannabe-adult". I absolutely love her drawings and her humour, so I had to buy this printed exemplar asap and I don't regret it.

Im Original fast noch besser als auf deutsch. Unglaublicher Wiedererkennungswert vor allem für Frauen, lustig, lebensnah, unverblümt. Flauschiger Samt auf dem Cover!
