Und mittendrin befinden sich Hanna Donnelly und Niklas Malikov. „Gemina“ ist der zweite Teil der „Illuminae-Files“ Wie schon im ersten Teil, so wird auch „Gemina“ nicht auf die klassische Art und Weise erzählt, sondern durch Chats, Durchsagen, niedergeschriebene Videoaufzeichnungen, Tagebucheintragungen und ähnlichen in Szene gesetzt. Was der ganzen Reihe nicht nur optisch einen unverwechselbaren Charakter verleiht, sondern auch dazu führt, dass man die Charaktere selbst meist nur durch ihre Aussagen und Taten kennen lernt. Das ganze Drumherum, dieses Stützgerüst, das einen Charakter sonst umgibt und Informationen zu seinen Hintergründen und ähnlichem liefert, fällt hier zu großen Teilen weg. Die handelnden Personen müssen also von Anfang an präsent sein und für sich selbst sprechen, sie selbst sein. Ganz individuell und mit hohem Wiedererkennungswert. Und dies ist dem Autorenduo hier wieder einwandfrei gelungen und so konnten mich die Charaktere und die Ereignisse auf der Station schnell wieder in ihren Bann ziehen. Die teils derbe Sprache des Buches ist zwar zensiert, sozusagen, aber diese Quasiflüche verleihen der ganzen Geschichte noch eine gewisse extra Eindringlichkeit. Die Atmosphäre des Buches ist zumeist spannungsgeladen, aber auch Gefühle und eine wohldosierte Portion Witz haben einzug in die Geschichte gehalten und runden alles ab. Auch der zweite Teil der Reihe war für mich wieder ein Lesevergnügen und jetzt bin ich umso gespannter auf den dritten Teil, der schon darauf wartet gelesen zu werden.
