Beschreibung

The concluding part of the highly-acclaimed science fiction trilogy that began with Nnedi Okorafor's Hugo- and Nebula Award-winning BINTI.
Binti has returned to her home planet, believing that the violence of the Meduse has been left behind. Unfortunately, although her people are peaceful on the whole, the same cannot be said for the Khoush, who fan the flames of their ancient rivalry with the Meduse.
Far from her village when the conflicts start, Binti hurries home, but anger and resentment has already claimed the lives of many close to her.
Once again it is up to Binti, and her intriguing new friend Mwinyi, to intervene--though the elders of her people do not entirely trust her motives--and try to prevent a war that could wipe out her people, once and for all.
Don't miss this essential concluding volume in the Binti trilogy.

Okorafor blends African culture, history and art with space travel and mathematics - an intoxicating mix that makes for one of the most creative and captivating experiences. Binti, who is from the Himba people, is invited to the galaxy's most prestigious school, the Oomza University. She leaves her village without her family's permission, boarding a spaceship and ending up in the middle of a galactic conflict, where she has to survive. Can she safe herself and stop a conflict and bloodshed with her intelligence and kindness? The only bad thing about this book is that it's short. Thankfully, there's a movie in the works!

Binti: Home (Still in love with Binti)
von einer Kundin/einem Kunden am 15.02.2018
Bewertet: Medium: Hörbuch (CD)

It’s been a year since Binti left her family on earth, to study at Oomza University. And it’s also been a year since the attack on her ship while travelling there and she managed a truce between two planets, which have been at war since forever. But now she has to face her family again and she doesn’t know how they will react... It’s been a year since Binti left her family on earth, to study at Oomza University. And it’s also been a year since the attack on her ship while travelling there and she managed a truce between two planets, which have been at war since forever. But now she has to face her family again and she doesn’t know how they will react. And she doesn’t know how other humans will react to Okwu, her companion, who travels with her on a diplomatic journey. The second part of Bintis journey is as good as the first one, if not better. But again: It’s so short. I just want more.
