It’s been ten years since the first book ended. Ten years since our two pilots have revealed the big Alien-Robot Themis to the world, dropped said robot into the ocean, been subjected to various tests by a mad scientist (who even took samples of their sperm and ovaries to produce children) and brought the robot back to the surface so that they could share it with the world. And it’s been ten years since the UN created a special department just for that specific Mega-Alien-Robot, with our two pilots as the only ones who could operate it. And what have they done in those ten years? Parading Themis around, that’s basically it. But suddenly a new Robot transports himself in the middle of London. Why is he here, what will he do and, even more important, what will our two Pilots do? I liked the second book even more than the first one, and I am really surprised by that. I didn’t know how Sylvain could make it better. Because frankly the story of the second book isn’t anything special, but then again, the story of the first book wasn’t anything special too. Like the first one this book here lives because of its characters and their stories. But while the first one was intriguing, well written, intelligent and exciting, the second one was all that plus it was more emotional. At least to me it was! I can’t remember when the last time was, that I felt so much for fictional characters. A really great sequel to a really great book!
