Sue Townsend

Sue Townsend, geboren 1946 und gestorben 2014 in Leicester, verließ mit 15 Jahren die Schule ohne Abschluss. Der Durchbruch als Autorin gelang ihr mit den »Tagebüchern des Adrian Mole«, die zum Bestseller wurden. Townsend war bekannt für ihre spitzfindige Kritik an der Monarchie und der englischen Gesellschaft, und galt als Englands lustigste Autorin.
