James Ouko Okumbe hails from Wagusu Village in Bondo
District in the Republic of Kenya. He is a leading
and recognized professional consultant, researcher
and academician who has practiced in the Botswana
construction industry for the last thirteen years in
the field of Quantity Surveying. He is currently a
Lecturer at Central University of Technology,South
Africa in
Quantity Surveying and Construction management. He
holds an MSc. degree in the Built Environment
(Construction Management). He is also a PhD scholar
in Quantity Surveying in the

South Africa, Europe, USA etc and are

He is the Managing Director of Jamax Consultants;
Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and
Construction Cost Consultants.
He is a member of the following professional bodies: Member of the Botswana Institute of
Arbitrators; (MBIArB) Member of Botswana Institute of Development
Professions;(MBIDP) Member of the South African Association of
Quantity Surveyors (MAQS); Corporate member of the Chartered Institute
