Shakespeare's approach to love and beauty in his sonnets gets magnified rejuvenation in contrasted ways centering the two principal figures- the Fair friend and the Dark Lady. This book aims at bringing to light the aspects of love the poet feels for the friend and for his mistress and it explores that the love Shakespeare feels for the friend exceeds the ordinary level, evokes contradictory analysis but appears as a dignified one and the love he feels for the Dark Lady is mostly predominated by infatuation and lust. Then this book focuses on the poet's adoration of beauty and reveals that the Fair Friend stands to the poet as a paramount of beauty while through the Dark Lady he has conceptualized the unconventional beauty of blackness. Finally it is assessed that manifesting love and beauty with distinctiveness of thought, the poet has sought to declare the supremacy of these two spirits both in physical and spiritual world and thus demonstrate the permanence of the sublime over the limitation of time.
