Trypanosomosis, a haemoprotozoan disease, causes a serious condition in variety of domestic and wild animals known as 'surra'. Trypanosoma evansi which is a vector transmitted most pathogenic trypanosome affecting wide range of host which is globally distributed. Animal trypanosomosis presents special problems with regard to its definitive diagnosis. The conventional diagnostic methods are no longer sensitive missing more than 80% of the infection.
