Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Sonstiges, Note: 1, ARGE Bildungsmanagement Wien (ARGE Bildungsmanagement Wien), Veranstaltung: Psychotherapiewissenschaft, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde untersucht, welche Bereicherung Fachkräfte durch langjährige Arbeit mit Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung erleben. Dabei wurden die positiven Veränderungen und die Aspekte der Entwicklung oder der Verfeinerung der Fähigkeiten durch die praktische Arbeit erforscht. Im besonderen wurde die subjektiv empfundene Veränderung der Wahrnehmung von körperlicher Schönheit und der Vorstellung von Gesundheit der Fachkräfte, ausgelöst durch die tägliche Arbeit mit Menschen mit Behinderung erfragt. Alle Fachkräfte konnten bei sich selbst positive Veränderungen feststellen und eine Veränderung in der Vorstellung von Gesundheit, genauer gesagt eine Erweiterung der Erfassung der individuellen Bedeutung und des Stellenwerts von Gesundheit. Nicht bestätigt wurde hingegen die Annahme, dass die meisten Fachkräfte nach mehreren Arbeitsjahren im Behindertenbereich körperliche Schönheit für sich anders definieren.
In the present study the enrichment, that professionals experience through their long-term work with people with intellectual disabilities was examined. Primarily the positive changes were shown and the aspects of the development or refinement of skills through practical work were explored. Especially the following aspect was included: the subjectively considered change of the perception of physical beauty and of the conception of health of the professionals, initiated by the daily work with people with disabilities. All professionals could realise positive changes on theirselves and a change in the conception of health occurred, specifically an extension of the coverage of the individual meaning and importance of health had taken place. On the contrary the assumption was not confirmed, that most professionals would define physical beauty differently after several working years in the disability field.
