Die Reihe "Not even Bones" zählt mit zu meinen Lieblingsreihen. Die Charaktere sind unfassbar menschlich, haben ihre Stärken (und insbesondere Schwächen) und lassen die Geschichte sehr lebendig wirken. Ich hätte das Buch am liebsten in einem durchgelesen. Starke Empfehlung!

Nita is weird. When the readers meet her for the first times, she stares at a corpse on her table. And then she helps her mother (who killed the man and brought him home) to carry the body into Nita`s dissection room, where Nita will take him apart LITERALLY So her mother can SELL the parts illegally on the dark net. BECAUSE That man was an so called UNNATURAL or MONSTER. Someone who isn't entirely human and body parts of unnaturals bring in a lot of money. Nita likes to dissect, or more precise she NEEDS to dissect. It's really not easy to understand... One day her mother's victim is still alive and she demands of Nita to take him limb by limb, while he still breathes - Nita helps him to flee and gets kidnapped the same day. She wakes up in a cage, dehumanized and called 'product' for now it is Nita whose bodyparts are up for sale. So what does Nita has to do, to save herself and get her freedom back? She needs to become a monster, that's what!!"
