The first part of the volume combines the economic developments of the 15th century, the life of the church politician and scholar Nicholas of Cusa, and the reflections on money and work in his letters, sermons and writings. Through the complementary perspectives of (economic) history, political theory, philosophy and theology, it becomes clear how Cusanus dealt with the economic thinking of his time. The second part of the volume contains the text of the Cusanus Lecture of 2021 on John of Segovia as well as an essay on "Cusanus 1453", which was awarded the "Helena Klotz-Makowiecki-Preis für wissenschaftliche Arbeiten zur Cusanus-Forschung".
