As a grandfather to fifteen, I had read many books about colors to toddlers and young children. I found them uninspired. There is so much artistic form and color in this world: cartoon drawings just can not compete. My first contribution to aesthetics in color books was Parrot Colors. Gratified by the warm reception of books on color based on outstanding artwork, I found Familiar Indian Flowers by Lena Lowis. I digitally restored the beautiful artwork from this 1879 publication, and created this book.
