Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2023 im Fachbereich Informatik - Internet der Dinge, IOT, Note: 1,3, Hochschule Fresenius; Hamburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: This paper discusses the impact of digitalization on the economy and society, with a special focus on the integration of IoT technologies in industry and smart homes. It also explores the challenges related to the incompatibility of IoT devices from different manufacturers and the role of the new matter communication standard in addressing this issue.
Digitalization is revolutionizing processes in the economy and society, with the goal of Industry 4.0 that aims to closely network people, machines, and products. A key component of this optimization process is the IoT technology, allowing physical objects to act autonomously by communicating with each other over networks. IoT technology has already infiltrated households by automating everyday chores and turning a "normal" home into a smart home. Despite the growing range of smart home devices offered by various manufacturers, there are challenges concerning device compatibility. The new Matter communication standard aims to overcome this hurdle and provide a uniform language for smart home devices.
