A power supply is used as long as the PC is switched on. Since it heats up a lot, it's a good idea to control its temperature. A power supply's loss of capacity is linked to the fact that, above a certain temperature, certain components see their electrical characteristics weaken (e.g. electrochemical filter capacitors). Integrating a visual indicator into power supplies would be a good solution to consider.
