The sorceress, Morgana, had won. The death of King Arthur signified the end of Camelot and the age of chivalry casting the world into a dark time where evil had little constraint. Even if the Egg were to be obtained, it would still be necessary to face the witch and her followers and the wizard was unsure if the boy had the courage to do so.
