Portrait

Dr. José Bravo is Full Professor in Computer Science in the Department of Technologies and Information Systems at Castilla-La Mancha University, Spain and Head of the Modelling Ambient Intelligence Research Group (MAmI, mami- lab.eu). He is involved in several research areas such as Ubiquitous Computing, Ambient Intelligence, Ambient Assisted Living, Context-Awareness, Internet of Things, Mobile Computing and m-Health. He is author of over 37 JCR articles and main researcher on several projects. H-Index (Scopus). - 22, H-Index (Google Scholar). – 30. Dr. Bravo supervised 7 PhD and over 45 Computer Science undergraduate theses. Since 2003, José Bravo is the organizer of the International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing & Ambient Intelligence (UCAmI).

Professor Chris Nugen t was awarded a BEng Electronic Systems and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering both from the University of Ulster.  He currently holds the position of full Professor of Biomedical Engineering.  His research interests include the development and evaluation of technologies to support pervasive healthcare within smart environments. Specifically, this has involved research in the topics of mobile based reminding solutions, activity recognition and behaviour modelling and more recently technology adoption modelling.  He is currently the director of the Pervasive Computing Research Centre at Ulster University and is also the co-Principal Investigator of the Connected Health Innovation Centre.

Dr Ian Cleland , is Research Director and a Senior Lecturer within the School of Computing at Ulster University, where he leads the research theme of Human Computer Interaction. He received his BSc in Biomedical Engineering in 2009 and a PhD in Computer Science in 2012, both from Ulster University. His research combines wearable, pervasive, and mobile computing with data science and artificial intelligence to produce innovative digital solutions, mainly in the healthcare domain. Areas of particular interest include sensor-based activity recognition and the use of synthetic data to support data driven modelling. He has published his research in over 100 peer reviewed scientific publications in top forums in digital health and health informatics.
