Human organ echinococcosis is a serious zoonotic parasitic disease caused by Echinococcus granulosus, characterized by cyst formation in vital organs, most frequently the liver and lungs. The disease often remains asymptomatic for long periods, leading to late diagnosis and increased risk of complications such as cyst rupture, infection, and anaphylactic reactions. Surgical management remains the cornerstone of treatment, aiming at complete removal of the hydatid cyst while preserving organ function. Various surgical techniques, including cystectomy and pericystectomy, are selected based on cyst localization, size, and the patient's clinical condition. In combination with surgery, antiparasitic therapy with albendazole significantly reduces recurrence rates and improves long-term outcomes. Early diagnosis and an individualized surgical approach are essential for effective management and prevention of complications.
