Franco da Silveira is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) - at the Embrapa Digital Agriculture. He has a doctorate in production engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He has a master's degree in production engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria. He has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Regional Integrated University of Alto Uruguay and the Missões. He received recognition for his master's research at COP 26 Special Issue: UN Climate Change Conference 2021 (RELX Resource Center and Elsevier). He received an honorable mention for obtaining second place as the best doctoral thesis by the Brazilian Society of Agroinformatics at the XIV Brazilian Congress of Agroinformatics. He is an ad hoc consultant for projects submitted to notices from the Secretariat of Innovation, Science, and Technology State of Rio Grande do Sul. Project consultant for the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo. Areas of research and activity: agriculture 4.0, digital transformation, emerging agricultural technologies, and technology adoption in agriculture. 

Jayme Garcia Arnal Barbedo received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul in 1998, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the State University of Campinas, Campinas, Brazil, in 2001 and 2004. From 2004 to 2005, he was a researcher at CPqD Telecom and IT Solutions, Campinas, Brazil. From 2006 to 2007, he was with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In 2008, he was with the Department of Computer Science of the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Since 2011, he works as senior researcher at the Digital Agriculture unit of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), in Campinas, Brazil. He has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of digital signal processing, digital image processing, biosystems engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and agriculture. His research interests include the detection and recognition of diseases in plants, cattle monitoring using UAV images, and detection of diseases, toxins, and spurious objects in grains, among others.

Chrysanthi Charatsari holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education and Extension from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has completed four postdoctoral fellowships in Agricultural Extension, Rural Sociology, and Adult Education. She participates as a scientific responsible or research associate in many projects funded by the European Union and/or national funds. She is a visiting lecturer at the Hellenic Open University and a postdoctoral researcher at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has published more than 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals, collective volumes, and proceedings of international and national conferences. Her research interests include agricultural extension/education, agricultural innovation, digitalization, sustainability transitions, and innovative learning techniques.

Evagelos D. Lioutas holds a PhD and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Supply Chain Management (International Hellenic University). He has completed postdoctoral research and has more than 90 published papers in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences. He also participates in several research projects focused on innovation and agricultural extension and serves as a reviewer in more than 35 journals. His research interests include agricultural innovation, the socio-ethical impacts of digitalization, sustainable agriculture, short food supply chains, agricultural extension, and education.
