Advanced Immediate Loading: A 30-Year Experience Volume 1: Biology and Clinical Advances of Immediate Loading: Sustainability

Professor Georgios E. Romanos is a tenured Professor of the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics, former Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Director of Laser Education at Stony Brook University (SBU), School of Dental Medicine, Stony Brook, New York. He is also Professor (Prof. Dr. med. dent.) of Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Professor Romanos has been a recipient of many research awards, like the Distinguished Scientist Award (AAP), Prosthodontics-Implant Research Award (IADR), T.H. Maiman Award for Best Dental Laser Research and the Outstanding Educator Award (ALD). He also received the faculty Award from the Academy of Osseointegration and American Dental Education Association (AO/ADEA) for predoctoral implant education. He is fully trained in Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Oral Surgery in Germany and in the USA; Professor Romanos is Board Certified in Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry in Germany, as well as Diplomate by the American Board of Periodontology. He has a dental license in Germany and in New York. He completed his training in Periodontology initially in Berlin (FU Berlin) and his Doctoral degree (Dr. med.dent., magna cum laude) on connective tissue research. After his prosthodontic training in Freiburg and Oral Surgery in Frankfurt, he completed postdoctoral degree on Immediate Loading of dental implants with studies performed in Malaysia and Germany and he obtained the postdoctoral degree (“Habilitation”, Dr. habil.). He is a fellow of the ADEA Leadership Institute, Great of New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP), American Association for Dental Research (AADR), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), Intern. Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics, Pierre Fauchard Academy; American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, International Team for Implantology (ITI) Foundation, Int. College of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the Int. College of Dentists (FICD) and the American College of Dentists (FACD). He has authored more than 600 articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters on periodontology, laser therapy, implantology and oral surgery (h-Index: 88; > 26,000 citations). He is a well-known speaker with experience of more than 800 lectures in national and international meetings as well as a passionate educator in continuous education (CE) courses.
