"The Book of Misers" is a book in which Abu Uthman Amr ibn Bahr al-Jahiz recorded some examples of miserliness among those he encountered and knew in his own environment, particularly in the city of Merv, the capital of Khorasan. Al-Jahiz portrayed misers realistically, vividly, psychologically, and humorously, documenting their movements, their anxious or reassured glances, their psychological whims, exposing their secrets and the hidden aspects of their homes, and revealing to readers their various conversations, thus unveiling their personalities and circumstances.
