honestly slaps just as hard as the series very well written in a way that i think both pleases those who know chess and doesn’t alienate those who are unfamiliar with it, a total page-turner, needed a good palate cleanser after all the depressive books i've been reading

This was soo good, I couldn't put this book down! The theme, chess, really intrigued me and the way the author included serious topics, like addiction and illness, is really great. I love the writing style and the story of a young girl becoming a champion, it's just perfect!
