""Moths of the Limberlost"" is a non-fiction book written by Gene Stratton-Porter. It is a comprehensive guide to the various species of moths found in the Limberlost Swamp, a natural area in northeastern Indiana. The book contains detailed descriptions and illustrations of over 100 species of moths, including their physical characteristics, life cycles, and habitats. The author also shares personal anecdotes and observations about the moths and their behavior, as well as their role in the ecosystem. The book is written in a clear and accessible style, making it an ideal resource for both amateur and professional naturalists, as well as anyone interested in the natural world. Overall, ""Moths of the Limberlost"" is a fascinating and informative book that celebrates the beauty and diversity of the natural world.I held the hat while the Deacon brought the board. Then with trembling care we slipped it under, and carefully carried the moth into the conservatory. First we turned on the light, and made sure that every ventilator was closed; then we released the Io for the night. In the morning we found a female clinging to a shelf, dotting it with little top-shaped eggs. I was delighted, for I thought this meant the complete history of a beautiful moth. So exquisite was the living, breathing creature, she put to shame the form and colouring of the mounted specimens. No wonder I had not cared for them! This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
