Lollardy and the Reformation in England: An Historical Survey V2 is a comprehensive book written by James Gairdner that explores the religious and political changes that occurred in England during the 15th and 16th centuries. The book is the second volume in a series that examines the development of Lollardy, a religious movement that emerged in the late 14th century and was characterized by a rejection of the authority of the Catholic Church. In this volume, Gairdner focuses on the period between the accession of Henry VII in 1485 and the reign of Elizabeth I in the late 16th century. He traces the evolution of Lollardy and its influence on the Reformation, which led to the establishment of the Church of England as a separate entity from the Catholic Church.Gairdner provides a detailed analysis of the key figures and events that shaped the religious and political landscape of England during this period, including the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI, and Mary I. He also examines the impact of the printing press on the dissemination of new ideas and the role of the English Bible in the Reformation.Overall, Lollardy and the Reformation in England: An Historical Survey V2 is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of religion and politics in England during the early modern period. Gairdner's meticulous research and engaging writing style make this book an accessible and informative read for scholars and general readers alike. In Four Volumes. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
