The perfect weird girl fiction book to read in summer. Besides the fact that i would recommend absolutely every book of Ali Smith without second thoughts, this one really stands out.
With Smith's delicate and vulgar way of writing and detailed description of events, this story lurs you into a hole. It's a family story, where a strange woman suddenly apperas at their door and demands all kind of things. Suddenly the prospect of who we are as people, how much we are willing to give and what truly make us who we are, appears an awful lot realer.
Great word-, aswell as character building. You do have to focus when reading, as ali smith likes to jump around alot. This book is more an adventure than just another story about a family, and besides the obvious tears you're going to shed while reading, you might aswell pull out a notebook and take some notes. Because Ali Smith has dared a lot to life amd you're going to feel it in those pages and learn from it.
