With its focus on developing high-quality curriculum that reaches students across the learning spectrum, the Parallel Curriculum Model (PCM) is a groundbreaking new curriculum that helps teachers develop student potential and challenge and motivate even the most academically talented students. This nationally recognized curriculum design presents four complementary approaches, or parallels, from which to explore an area of study and develop the full potential of all students.
Now you can easily introduce, demonstrate, and elaborate upon the Parallel Curriculum Model in your own staff development workshops, training sessions, and study groups with this complete multimedia kit. The kit contains everything needed to lead a group through the parallel curriculum design and development, including:
- The runaway bestseller, The Parallel Curriculum: A Design to Develop High Potential and Challenge High-Ability Learners
- A 45-minute video featuring lead author Carol Ann Tomlinson, interviews with classroom teachers, and the PCM in practice in schools
- Companion DVD with section-by-section navigation
- Step-by-step facilitator's guide linking the video or DVD with the core book, complete with extended activities, overheads, and reproducible handouts
The comprehensive facilitator's guide brings the Parallel Curriculum Model directly into practice, outlining the entire workshop and seamlessly integrating the book, video or DVD, overheads, and handouts. Featuring core content and hands-on professional development ancillaries, this all-in-one package is an indispensable resource for anyone planning, designing, or conducting curriculum development training, including staff developers, teacher trainers, teacher leaders, and district and school administrators.
