The History of Jim Crow is a non-fiction book written by John Briggs in 1839. It chronicles the history of racial segregation and discrimination against African Americans in the United States, from the end of the Civil War until the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. The book explores the origins of Jim Crow laws, which enforced racial segregation in public spaces, and the social and economic impact of these laws on African American communities. Briggs also examines the resistance and activism of African Americans during this time period, including the efforts of civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. The History of Jim Crow is a comprehensive and insightful look at one of the most shameful periods in American history, and a reminder of the ongoing struggle for racial equality. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
