The Canadas: As They At Present Commend Themselves To The Enterprise Of Emigrants, Colonists, And Capitalists is a book written by John Galt in 1832. The book provides a comprehensive description of the Canadas, which were the British colonies of Upper Canada (now Ontario) and Lower Canada (now Quebec) at the time. Galt's book is intended to attract potential emigrants, colonists, and capitalists to the Canadas by highlighting the various opportunities and advantages that the colonies offer. The book covers a wide range of topics, including the geography, climate, natural resources, agriculture, commerce, and society of the Canadas. Galt's writing style is engaging and informative, and he draws on his own experiences in the Canadas to provide firsthand accounts of life in the colonies. He also includes statistical data and other factual information to support his arguments and provide a more complete picture of the Canadas. Overall, The Canadas: As They At Present Commend Themselves To The Enterprise Of Emigrants, Colonists, And Capitalists is an important historical document that provides valuable insight into the Canadas during the early 19th century. It is a must-read for anyone interested in Canadian history or the history of immigration and colonization. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
