Packend von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite! Der Missbrauch, die Vergewaltigung und Folter von Elle Drake sowie die anschließende Verarbeitung des emotionalen Traumas sind einfach atemberaubend beschrieben. Ihre große Liebe Jackson Deveau spielt dabei eine zentrale Rolle dank seiner eigenen Erfahrungen mit Folter, ihrer Telepathie untereinander und letztendlich seiner Liebe zu Elle. Wie in jedem Roman von Christine Feehan profitieren die Sex-Szenen von ihrem detaillierten Schreibstil. Ein erstklassiges Finale!

This is the seventh book in the Drake sisters-series. The series is about seven sisters who all have paranormal powers, anything from precognition over control of th wind to the ability to communicate with animals. The youngest sister has all abilities combined and it is up to her to have seven daughters who will have the same abilities and continue the legacy. The first 6 titles in the series are: Magic in the Wind The twilight before Christmas Oceans of fire Dangerous tides Safe Harbor Turbulent Sea 'Hidden Currents' is about Elle Drake, the youngest of the Drake sisters. When she first met Sheriff Jackson Deveau she was sure that he was her soul mate and would be the father of her 7 daughters. But when he obviously wasn't too happy about the heritage that would come along with a relationship with her, she left and became an undercover agent for Interpol. This gets her into serious trouble when the dangerous criminal Stavros Gratsos kidnaps her, suppresses her powers and tortured and rapes her. What he wants is to break her spirit and get paranormally gifted children out of her. When Jackson and her sisters manage to free her, they not only have to try and heal her battered body and mind, but Gratsos wants to find her and kill everyone she loves. And he uses his own paranormal gift to control the ocean against the Drakes... This is a good conclusion to the Drake sisters books (although it seems that the series will be continued with the also paranormally gifted brothers of one of their husbands). It should be mentioned, however, that the book is very dark due to the torture and rape scenes. In this respect I also think that the author downplayed the long-term effects of such things by letting Elle basically get well and sexually active within days of her rescue. Apart from that I liked the book and would recommend it.
