Historical Records of Port Phillip: The First Annals of the Colony of Victoria (1879) is a book written by John Joseph Shillinglaw. The book provides a comprehensive account of the early history of the Colony of Victoria, which was established in the mid-19th century in what is now Australia. Shillinglaw draws on a range of primary sources, including government records, personal diaries, and newspaper articles, to paint a vivid picture of life in the colony during its formative years. The book covers a wide range of topics, including the arrival of the first European settlers, the establishment of Melbourne as the colony's capital, the growth of the gold rush, and the development of the colony's infrastructure. Historical Records of Port Phillip is an important historical document that provides valuable insights into the early history of Victoria and the broader history of Australia. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
