Defects, Civil And Military, Of The Indian Government (1853) is a book written by Charles James Napier, a British military officer and colonial administrator who served in India. The book is a critical analysis of the Indian government during the British colonial era, highlighting the various flaws and shortcomings of the system. Napier's work is divided into two parts: civil and military defects. In the civil section, he discusses issues such as corruption, inefficiency, and lack of accountability in the administration of justice. In the military section, he focuses on problems such as inadequate training, poor discipline, and outdated tactics. Throughout the book, Napier provides examples and anecdotes to illustrate his points and offers suggestions for improvement. Defects, Civil And Military, Of The Indian Government is a valuable historical document that sheds light on the challenges faced by British colonial administrators in India and the impact of their policies on the country and its people. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
