Khaled Hosseini hat ein besonderes Talent, seine Romanfiguren mit Leben zu füllen. Die einzelnen Schicksale sind ergreifend und realistisch beschrieben. Dabei bleibt Hosseini seinem Stil aus The Kite Runner treu. The Mountains Echoed ist ein Episodenroman. Jedes Kapitel erzählt dem Leser eine eigene Geschichte aus einer neuen Perspektive.
Wie in einem anderen Kommentar beschrieben, treten dadurch viele verschiedene Figuren auf. Ich habe mir selbst eine Übersicht der wichtigsten Figuren und ihrer Beziehungen zueinander erstellt. Ohne diese hätte ich vermutlich einige Personen verwechselt.
Insgesamt: Ergreifender Roman mit wundervollen Geschichten. Genauso empfehlenswert wie The Kite Runner.
