    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Well researched and still very upsetting!

    In this book Jack London writes about his observations and own experiences of the life and death of the poorest of the poor in the East End of London in 1902. Among others, he criticises the lack of education, employment, health and housing - but also help, chances and meaning of life - at that time. Himself being American, he decided to live in the East End for a while to gain some first hand experience of these cruel conditions. Very informativ!
