Invictus

Ryan Graudin's "Invictus" is a fast-paced, intriguing and well-written sci-fi-novel that one simply can't put down. Farway McCarthy is a time traveller with an unheard of origin and an even more complicated future. On one of his heists Far runs into Eliot, a mysterious girl whom he immediately distrusts, but has to work with in order to save the world as he knows it. Will he be able to overcome his distrust and meddle with history before it's too late? "Invictus" is one of the best-composed and most coherent sci-fi-novels I've ever read. Complicated context is comprehensibly explained, the characters are diverse and likeable and the storyline is enthralling. Also, as far as I know, "Invictus" is a stand-alone, which I like as well. For once one mustn't wait for months and years to find out how the story continues. I recommend this novel to teenagers and adults who enjoy a good time travelling story. It really is a great read!
