Klara and the Sun

I don’t quite remember how or why this book found its way into my hands, but I’m so glad it did. “Klara and the Sun” is narrated from the perspective of Klara, a sentient (that at least, is my conclusion) artificial intelligence serving within a family dynamic. At the begin of the story there was very little “explained” about the circumstances or general state of the world. Very little detail is given which at first led to some frustrations on my part; I wanted to understand how far in the future the story takes place, what led to “AFs” (artificial friends, such as Klara) coming to be and what challenges humanity be facing… but! I began to become wrapped up in Klara’s observations of the world, and most importantly, interpersonal dynamics around her, her ever growing concept of understanding, faith and determination to fulfil her own destiny. A remarkable story, very delicately told yet gripping in nature. Easily one of my favourites I’ve ever read.

To be honest, I bought this book because the cover looks interesting and I kinda like the synopsis. I don't have a lot of expectation on this book, but WOW. The story is not complicated yet I can relate to the characters, especially Klara. I think this books show the reality of human feelings, which can't be described or recreated. It also shows the sincerity, that we nowadays are lack of. This is the first book from Sir Kazuo Ishiguro OBE, that I've read, but surely this is not the last.

Dnf 50% Wtf is this book about? I was so excited to read something about AI and human connection and guess what i got? Nothing absolutely nothing but long boring chunks of texts that had nothing to do with plot. Klara is dumb so dumb like what is the point? She is an ai and doesn’t know anything not even how human can survive to how industrial towns look? Common. She knows nothing. I hated reading it
