Homes And Haunts Of The Pilgrim Fathers is a historical non-fiction book written by Alexander Mackennal and first published in 1899. The book tells the story of the Pilgrim Fathers, a group of English Separatists who fled religious persecution in England and settled in the New World in the early 17th century. Mackennal's book takes the reader on a journey through the lives of the Pilgrim Fathers, from their humble beginnings in England to their eventual settlement in the Plymouth Colony in what is now Massachusetts. He explores the various homes and haunts of these early settlers, from the small villages and towns of England to the rugged wilderness of the New World. The book provides a detailed account of the Pilgrim Fathers' journey, including their struggles with illness, hunger, and harsh weather conditions. It also delves into the political and religious tensions that led to their decision to leave England and the challenges they faced in establishing a new community in the New World.Throughout the book, Mackennal draws on a range of historical sources, including letters, journals, and other documents written by the Pilgrim Fathers themselves. He also provides detailed descriptions of the various locations associated with the Pilgrim Fathers, including their homes, churches, and other significant landmarks.Overall, Homes And Haunts Of The Pilgrim Fathers is a fascinating and informative book that provides a detailed insight into the lives of these early settlers and the challenges they faced in establishing a new community in the New World.
