Step into one of the most storied private libraries of the modern age, where medieval vellum stands beside revolutionary pamphlets and finely printed verse. Rarity breathes on every page. The Catalogue Of The Library Of Robert Hoe Of New York records an extraordinary early English literature collection, a rare Americana collection, French illustrated books, and medieval and renaissance manuscripts described with a connoisseur's eye. As a rare book auction catalog and illuminated manuscripts catalogue, it documents incunabula and early printing, eighteenth century English authors, autographs, and historical bindings in language that still guides scholars and collectors. More than a simple inventory, the Robert Hoe library catalog has long been prized as a rare book collectors reference and as a dependable library and archives reference for specialists in book history and bibliography. It opens a window onto the tastes, priorities, and ambitions of one of America's great bibliophiles, preserving descriptions of items that now reside, often unrecognised, in institutions and private collections around the world. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Ideal both for casual readers drawn to the romance of old books and for serious students of incunables, bindings, and provenance, this enduring catalogue keeps a legendary collection alive on the page.
