A valley speaks through minutes, maps, and minerals. In these pages the Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania, records itself in the early 20th century. Facts, names, places, dates, voices. Proceedings And Collections Of The Wyoming Historical And Geological Society For The Year 1911-1912 (Volume XII) brings together the Society's annual historical society proceedings as a compact local history anthology and archival journal collection. It stands as a historical documents compilation, capturing how citizens, scholars, and collectors safeguarded evidence long before searchable databases. Edited by Horace Edwin Hayden, this volume is built for use: articles and communications that illuminate townships, industries, commemorations, landscapes, and the deep time beneath them. As a county history reference it offers leads that reward browsing, while its careful citations and documentary emphasis make it a dependable tool for academic history research. Researchers of family lines will also value it as a genealogy reference book, where obituaries, membership notes, and place-specific records can unlock new connections. Readers drawn to American local history journals will appreciate the textured, on-the-ground perspective that broad national narratives often miss. For anyone tracing northeastern Pennsylvania's past, these pages remain a primary witness. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint -- a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Add it to a classics shelf, keep it near a writing desk, or consult it whenever you want Pennsylvania regional history and regional geology studies told by the people closest to the evidence.
