The second book in the Finlay Donovan series did not disappoint. Just like the first, Finlay Donovan Knocks ’Em Dead delivers a funny, over-the-top murder mystery full of chaos and comedy. This time, Finlay and her trusty friend/nanny Vero try to keep Steven (Finlay’s annoying ex-husband) from being taken out (and not in a good way). We once again get sharp banter, wildly chaotic situations and a story that’s simply fun and relaxing to read. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous that the second book might lose some of the pace or humor. That’s always the risk with a series, but it absolutely holds up. While the overall theme remains familiar, this book still feels fresh and entertaining. It’s another great cozy crime read, perfect for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a good murder mystery.
