The Fantastic Flying Competition is a beautiful 1950s-vintage-style picture book from award-winning author Tjibbe Veldkampand illustratorSebastiaan Van Doninckset to get everyone’s adrenaline pumping and some feathers ruffled—who will win the race?
Welcome to the Fantastic Flying Competition for birds! All the teams are ready to go, all except one, that is. . . . Where are the owls? Team Owl is late! Did those night birds oversleep again this year? The countdown begins: three . . . two . . . one . . .
In this gorgeous, wacky story, readers can join a motley menagerie of hawks, chickens, owls, bats, toucans, and many more flying animals as they all compete to be the winner of the Fantastic Flying Competition! With every flying contraption under the sun, whose invention will take them to the finish line, and who will be trailing behind? Hijinks and “fowl” play abound in this dazzling picture book, where only the reader can judge who the real winner is.
