The protagonist in this book is a young woman who strives to recover from her past while fighting for her career. When she's assigned a new project, she begins to wonder if she earned it on her own merits or if someone else intervened. While I found the story to be enjoyable, I would have appreciated more detailed descriptions as the pacing felt rushed and didn't allow me to fully immerse myself in the story. Phoenix, the young and successful entrepreneur, won my heart with his passion and dedication to making a difference in the world. However, I felt that the connection between the two main characters was lacking in passion and intensity. Despite their denial of attraction to one another, it didn't come across as authentic to me as a reader.
