Girl, Goddess, Queen A Hades and Persephone fantasy romance from a growing TikTok superstar

A surprising highlight! The flood of Hades and Persephone retellings almost made me miss this new gem of a rom-com but now that I read it I am deeply in love! This is a slow almost enemies to friends to lovers story and especially Hades came with a new and very sweet personality. It´s kinda rare to not see him presented as a broody and dark guy (except for in Lore Olympus maybe) so this was really refreshing. This book had many laugh-out-loud and super sweet moments that I couldnt let go of, I had to reread them over and over. I also liked how we didnt only see Persephones or the female pov on patriarchy but also how Hades as a "powerful man" suffers in the role he´s been assigned to by society. Furthermore the underworld and how it was presented here was really interesting and it was just beautiful to see how Persephone and Hades changed it for the better together. I really, really enjoyed reading this one!

Following Persephone’s escape to the underworld and to the life she was always meant to live was a blast! I’m not gonna lie, I almost read this book in one go. We accompany Persephone on her journey to becoming the confident queen of the underworld, with her loving husband Hades as the King by her side. I love how the characters have completely contrasting personalities, but balance each other out perfectly. They’re both different than you’d expect, considering how they’re usually portrayed. The two of them learn a lot from each other and there’s loads of character development, that's always a plus in my book. Their main love language is basically a mixture of sarcasm and teasing, which makes it hilarious to read. To anyone who likes slow burn and a funny Enemies-to-Lovers story, I highly recommend reading ‘Girl, Goddess, Queen’!

Bea Fitzgerald zeigt in ihrem Debütroman eine neue und in meinen Augen auch deutlich coolere Variante der Geschichte von Persephone und Hades auf. Mit irre witzigen Dialogen entführt sie uns in die Unterwelt, übt Kritik am Patriarchat und wirft uns mit Hades einen absoluten Green Flag Bookboyfriend vor die Füße-lieben wir! Ich kann’s kaum erwarten welche anderen Mythen sie uns in Zukunft auf feministische Weise präsentieren wird!

Bea Fitzgerald wrote the Story of Persephone and Hades not totaly new but with a twist of femenism. Really loved it was a great gift not not what I expectet. Really want more of Bea Fitzgerald.

Stunning re-telling of Greek mythology, loved every inch of it. Persephone and Hades as partner in crime, eternal lovers with a rough start and rebels against all gods of the above - garnished with just the perfect dose of spice. Can’t wait for “The end crowns all” to come.
