"Second Chances in New Port Stephen" von TJ Alexander hat mich wirklich in seinen Bann gezogen. Ich musste tatsächlich die Taschentücher bereithalten, denn diese Geschichte nimmt einen emotional mit. Vielleicht kennst du das Gefühl, wenn ein Buch dich so sehr berührt, dass du es nicht aus der Hand legen kannst? Genau so erging es mir hier.
Wir begleiten Eli auf seiner Heimreise, und es ist wie ein Wiedersehen mit alten Freunden. Da ist nicht nur seine Familie, die auf ihn wartet, sondern auch seine Jugendliebe, Nick. Schon auf den ersten Seiten wird klar, dass dies keine typische Liebesgeschichte ist. Es gibt so viele unausgesprochene Dinge zwischen den Zeilen, die aufgearbeitet werden müssen. Die Geschichte ist eine Achterbahnfahrt der Gefühle, die einen nicht so schnell loslässt.
Ich fand es besonders bewegend, wie man in die Gefühlswelt von Eli und Nick eintauchen kann. Es ist, als ob man jeden Herzschlag, jede Unsicherheit und jede Hoffnung mit ihnen teilt. Trotz der ernsten Themen, die angesprochen werden, bleibt das Buch leicht zugänglich. Charaktere mit einem großartigen Sinn für Humor bringen einen immer wieder zum Lachen oder zumindest zum Schmunzeln.
Und dann gibt es diese wundervolle Weihnachtsstimmung! Eine Szene hat mir nicht nur Tränen in die Augen getrieben, sondern auch ein warmes, geborgenes Gefühl vermittelt. Auf manchen Seiten habe ich pure Liebe gespürt – weißt du, dieses Gefühl, das dich einfach nur glücklich macht?
Alles in allem liebe ich dieses Buch einfach. Es ist eine emotionale Reise, die dich mitnimmt und dir zeigt, dass zweite Chancen manchmal alles sind, was man braucht. Hast du es schon gelesen, oder steht es noch auf deiner Liste? Ich kann es dir wirklich nur ans Herz legen. Natürlich hoffe ich das es übersetzt wird.
